Artwork Preparation

We know an eye-catching design is crucial to success in a competitive market. Our experienced team can assist you with materials and features that bring out or even elevate the design. We will ensure the artwork settings meets production capability. In addition, our in-house designer can also help with minor modifications to save time and money.

To ensure prompt service, we have outlined the artwork requirements. Please provide these guidelines to your designer before starting your project. It is essential to follow these guidelines to avoid production delays.

File Formats

For optimal print quality, it is recommended to submit artwork in vector-based formats:
• PDF (Portable Document Format)
• AI (Adobe Illustrator)
• EPS (Encapsulated PostScript)

Die-line Templates

Please make the die-line a separate layer; do not flatten the layer.
• Pre-formed pouches: Please contact your sales representative to create a custom template built to your specifications.
• Roll-stock/film: Please follow the packaging machine specifications to create the die-line. Please indicate the registration mark and the rewind direction.

Design Details

• Layers: Please do not flatten layers.
• Colour Profiles: Please convert to CMYK mode. *Spot colours from Pantone Formula Guide Solid Coated are also available if you choose rotogravure printing. Please provide a physical colour reference (a printout or a sample) for better colour matching.
• Text: Please make sure all text is outlined and properly sized. *The minimum printable size is 6pt for digital printing and 8pt for rotogravure printing.
• Images: Please ensure all images and graphics are embedded, and the quality is 300 PPI.
• Bleeds: Please leave 1.5mm (1/16”) bleeds on all edges. A full bleed reduces unwanted colour strips on the edges resulting from shifting in pouch making process.
• Opaque Base: Please create a separate layer indicating opaque white. If a double-hit of white is required, please make two separate layers.
• See-through Window: Please create a separate layer indicating transparent windows. Please use 15% K and name the layer “WINDOW”.
• Matte/Varnish Finish: If your design involves a matte/gloss combination, please create a separate layer indicating the matte lacquer.
• Spelling & Content: Please proofread before submitting your artwork. It’s your responsibility to ensure the nutrition fact table and other details follow government requirements.
